- In My Arms -

Very young babies will be held the majority of the time, so start talking with your baby early on. Let’s go!

Let me hold you in my arms. I’m so glad you’re here in my arms. Do you feel safe in my arms?
I’m going to hold you close. Do you feel safe when I hold you close?
I’m going to bounce you on my knee. Up and down. Ooh, isn’t this fun to bounce?
I love to cuddle with you. It is so special for us to be able to cuddle together.
Are you hungry? Mommy can nurse you now. Nursing is a special time between you and me. Settle in now and let’s talk while you nurse. Nursing helps you get stronger and grow bigger.
Here, let me hold you. I’m holding you in my arms. I want you to know that you are loved, so I hold you. I hope you feel protected in my arms when I hold you. I’m going to sing you a song while I hold you.
While I’m holding you, let me feed you. Do you like the milk I’m feeding you?
I reach my hands out to you to pick you up. Do you want me to pick you up? Up, up, up! I love picking you up. Show me you want to be picked up! Hold out your arms like this to say, “up!”

Talk With Me Baby is made possible by a grant from the United Way of Atlanta and is a collaborative effort among organizations.
